BOOTCAMPS

In preparation for the hackathon, we hosted comprehensive bootcamps to engage programmers and familiarize them with the programming languages of the Web3 ecosystem.

Through hands-on exercises and expert-led instruction, programmers get immersed in the intricacies of programming languages such as BOS, Solidity, JavaScript, Rust, Move, and ZK gaining a deeper understanding of decentralized applications (dApps) and blockchain technologies.

These bootcamps will serve as a catalyst, igniting the participants’ passion for Web3 programming and setting the stage for their success in the hackathon.

RUST BOOTCAMP

Time: 10th Jun – 30th Jul

  • Rust is the primary programming language for NEAR. Rust boasts a vibrant ecosystem and excellent tooling support, providing developers with a rich set of libraries and frameworks to accelerate Web3 development and enhance productivity.
  • Rust’s focus on low-level control and optimization enables efficient execution, making it well-suited for resource-intensive Web3 tasks like blockchain consensus and cryptographic operations.

NEAR & BOS BOOTCAMP

Time: 10th Jun – 15th Aug

  • NEAR is on a mission to onboard a billion users to the infinite possibilities of Web3 with the Blockchain Operating System (BOS)An industry-first OS, the BOS allows developers and founders to effortlessly create and distribute decentralized apps for an open web using the languages they already know, like Javascript — all in one browser.
  • Leveraging its high-performance, carbon-neutral protocol – which is fast, secure, and scalable – BOS provides a common layer for browsing and discovering the Open Web.

SUBSTRATE BOOTCAMP

Time: 21th Jun – 15th Aug

  • Substrate enables developers to quickly and easily build future – proof blockchains optimized for any use case.
  • Substrate-based chains are designed to seamlessly connect to Polkadot, granting access to its system of parallel transactions, cross-chain transfers, and an expanding support network.

SOLIDITY BOOTCAMP

Time: 23th Jun – 10th Aug

  • Solidity has a strong community of developers, providing resources, support, and collaboration opportunities for Web3 projects.
  • Solidity is the primary programming language for Ethereum, enabling seamless integration and utilization of Ethereum’s features and ecosystem.

JAVASCRIPT BOOTCAMP

Time: 25th Jul – 15th Aug

  • JavaScript widespread adoption, making it a versatile choice for Web3 development due to its large community and extensive libraries.
  • JavaScript’s compatibility with browsers makes it ideal for frontend development in Web3 applications, enhancing user interfaces and interactions.

Link: https://web3-hackfest.devfolio.co/

How much does it cost to attend?

Nothing. Attendance is free.

How many people can be on a team?

1-5 people per team.

When can I start working on my project?

As soon as the Web3 Hackfest opens. To keep the playing field level, we don’t allow teams to begin building prior to the start of the event. If your project is an upgrade to an existing project, please check with us beforehand. Email: contact@web3hackfest.org

When and where is Web3 Hackfest 2023?

This event takes place online and offline (main conference). The hackathon chat/support happens on Discord, workshops happen over YouTube, and projects are submitted through Devfolio.

Should my collaborator also fill out the registration form, or is my registration sufficient for us?

Each team member must individually register on the hackathon website. You can add your teammates in the “Manage Teammates” section when submitting your project on the Devfolio hackathon page.

Link: https://web3-hackfest.devfolio.co/

Do we also need to host the website somewhere externally?

No, localhost is fine. All you need is a live demo.

How can I fit all the features of my project in a video shorter than five minutes?

The video must be under five minutes. We recommend making additional edits to condense it.

My project is complete, but I don’t have a demo video—is it still valid?

No. We need a video, even if it’s just a recording of you talking.

How can I ensure my project qualifies for hackathon prizes?

Only projects developed during the hackathon period are eligible for prizes. This means projects created prior to the hackathon or submitted to previous hackathons are not eligible. We collaborate closely with our partners and sponsors to identify and filter out such projects.

How can I reach the organizers for assistance?

If you require support or need to provide additional information, please contact us via email: contact@web3hackfest.org
